From Miami, she has built the most influential civic and academic youth platform in the region, preparing the next generation of leaders who will shape the hemisphere toward 2050. Under her leadership, the Youth & Democracy Summit has been hosted for seven consecutive years at the U.S. Capitol and the Organization of American States (OAS), bringing together U.S. lawmakers, diplomats, and young leaders from more than 22 countries. She has also spearheaded the creation of the first university chapters of Youth & Democracy, including the official chapter at Florida International University (FIU), expanding the organization’s presence to the academic sphere.
Her leadership has been recognized at the highest levels of U.S. politics and international diplomacy. On July 25, 2023, U.S. Senator Rick Scott honored her during a Senate session for her fight for freedom and for Venezuela, highlighting her leadership in preparing future leaders. Senator Marco Rubio has commended her “great professionalism and commitment to forming the next leaders of the region.” In Washington, D.C., U.S. Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar presented her with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for her service and leadership. And OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro has affirmed that she has made Youth & Democracy in the Americas “a bastion for democracy in the region.” Cecilia’s public life began as a student leader. In Venezuela, she was part of the Student Government of Universidad Alejandro de Humboldt, and later became President of the Student Government Association at Florida National University (2016–2017). She also founded the nonprofit Un Juguete, Una Sonrisa, benefiting more than 600 children living in extreme poverty and integrating children with special needs into education and community life.
In the United States, she has been actively involved in political life, working and volunteering in several congressional, senatorial, and local campaigns. She served as a volunteer with Latinos for Trump in Virginia during the 2020 presidential elections, mobilizing Hispanic voters, and in 2024 she became a Captain Volunteer for President Donald J. Trump’s campaign, leading grassroots efforts such as door-to-door mobilization, phone banking, and volunteer recruitment to strengthen conservative participation. She also served as Membership Chair of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly (RNHA) in 2023, and currently acts as a Liaison for the Mecklenburg County GOP in North Carolina. Her advocacy has reached global forums including the IX Summit of the Americas (Los Angeles, 2022), the United Nations, and the OAS, where she has consistently denounced the advance of socialism, the killing of young people in Venezuela, and the threats to democracy in the region. She has also shared her story of exile, resilience, and leadership in universities and international forums, inspiring a new generation to embrace freedom and civic responsibility. Through Y&D, she has engaged with presidents, lawmakers, and diplomats — including a historic interview with former President of Colombia Álvaro Uribe Vélez, addressing democracy, freedom, and the fight against authoritarian populism in Latin America. She holds a degree in International Trade from Universidad Alejandro de Humboldt in Caracas, Venezuela, and has combined her academic training with civic leadership, international advocacy, and the creation of a transnational youth movement. With strategic vision and conviction of faith, Cecilia Navas stands as one of the most influential voices of her generation — a woman who inspires, empowers, and prepares leaders committed to freedom and the founding values of the United States.
Cecilia is a leading advocate for young voices in the defense of the rule of law and freedom across the Americas.
